OUGD502 - Studio Brief 02 - Deuce Studios: Interview Preparation

As the main outcome required in this module is a 500-word report on our chosen subject's route into industry and current situation, myself and Harrison began to think about a mixture of questions - some that will help our knowledge of the industry, some that are entirely informative about Deuce and some that can be used to inform the design process for the report. As Deuce's work is very bright, colourful and fun, we wanted to ask some questions that aren't completely serious. If we constantly asked them serious questions, the interview would be quite intense and potentially boring. Instead, we tried to make the design process questions fun and engaging, so that the entire interview is challenging, but also relaxed. The 8 main questions that we came up with can be seen below.

Specific Questions about Deuce and their experience into the industry:

Where do you guys hope to see Deuce in 5-10 years time? How did you guys get together?
Why the name Deuce?
Why London when you could pick North Wales?
When going from uni into industry, what was your biggest challenge? Have you got any advice?

Questions that can inform that design process:

If Deuce could be any box of cereal, what would it be and why?
If you could describe one another as a typeface, what would you be?
What’s your pet hate in design?
Favourite emoji?

Before heading down to London we thought that it was only right to print some of our posters that Deuce had liked to bring to the interview. This, in my eyes, was a way to show the Deuce team that we are organised and that the interview is really important to us. Some of the posters produced can be seen below.
